Information for Gloucestershire
The J9BG and Gloucestershire County Council, facilitated by Parklife business Advocate Keith Rog, have established a Travel Plan working group together with partners in Gloucestershire Highways and the Highways Agency. The group objectives are to combat congestion surrounding the business park and look for viable travel alternatives. We aim to reduce congestion and make the business park more accessible through promoting sustainable transport and raising awareness of the options available to those visiting and working at the site.
Gloucestershire County Council
(GCC) is the local authority with responsibility for the local road network. The Transport Planning team manage the use of our transport infrastructure positively, developing strategies for all modes of travel. Transport Planning looks at environmental improvements that can be made and to promote and enhance the sustainable network.
Gloucestershire Highways
(GH) is a partnership organisation of Atkins and Gloucestershire County Council staff. Their responsibility is for Gloucestershire highway maintenance and improvements. In this instance the A438. The GH Stakeholder Manager liaises between customers and GH.
The Highways Agency
's (HA) Regional Travel Plan Co-ordinator is working in partnership with GCC to implement the J9 Travel Plan with local businesses. The HA is responsible for maintaining and operating the national strategic road network, in this instance the M5 and A46.
J9BG
are the business group on Tewkesbury Parklife business estate who approached GCC about congestion in the area. This transport-focused project group gathers to address congestion in Tewkesbury especially at M5 junction 9.
